SPCC cruise to the Boat Show – day 2 Limehouse to the Royal Docks

Friday 6th January 2012. Richard and Sue kindly offered me some space on Indigo Dream (see their blog), with their friends Sarah and Andy, and their combined total of six greyhounds (I think I only stood on one of them). A glorious run – much calmer weather than yesterday – along Limehouse Cut in the dark, through the security boom to City Mill lock, and then (dodging the dredging operations) through Three Mills lock, down Bow Creek and into the Royals at King George V Dock – which we shared (all seven abreast) with some boats en route to exhibit at the boat show. About 7 miles, three locks.

For some rather better photos, please see:

  • Indigo Dream’s blog
  • loads taken by  Tim Lewis.
  • a rather good timelapse video taken by Roggielondon (you can see us nipping to the front of the queue, with me at the helm, just before we enter KGV).
