1st June: Limehouse to West India

A very early start, as half the narrowboats set off before 0600 to get to the security barrier near City Mill Lock for 0630. We had a bit of a lie-in, as we only had to get to Bow for 0900. Quite a bit of hanging around, in part to wait for some tugs and barges to come up Bow Creek – they were loaded  very quickly and so overtook us on the way downstream.

Then a very slow run down Bow Creek. We had to wait near the mouth of the creek until Tenacious was safely in West India Dock. Then a quick dash along the north shore to West India – had to take the flagpole down to get under the lift bridge… Moored “Mediterranean style” (weather not included) near the footbridge on South Quay, and started polishing the brass a bit.
