2nd June – housekeeping at West India

I attended the harbour-master’s briefing the evening before – I agree with Indigo Dream’s comment  on that.  Basically the Harbour Master driving home the points in his video and encouraging people to get into and out of the locks quicker – otherwse us poor narrow boats will be stuck on the tideway until midight on Sunday.

So in the morning I got up early, to see the T boats locking out at 0800. All went smoothly, on a pretty grotty morning.  Then spent the rest of the day waiting for the crew to arrive, as per the previously promulgated crew plan. The horticulture, catering and bunting/flag committees could then get to work.

Hugh attempted to clean the windows but only made them dirtier. Some crew lifted off to Lewisham for the night, to stay with my sister Hilary (aka Shore Commander).
