A relaxing weekend trip to Wicken Fen, and various maintenance tasks. Glorious weather on Saturday, rather cold and windy on the way back on Sunday. Saw the Cambridge Lightweights in action.
The lock at Upware – rise about 6 inches
A slow but steady run to the moorings at Wicken Fen, and views beyond (not navigable).
Returning on Sunday morning, we saw the Cambridge lightweights crew padding up to Pope’s Corner.
The weather board for the Wash – designed to stop any breaking waves dumping water into the cabin. I will be seriously alarmed if we have to use it for real.
Some new plumbing in the bathroom …
… which can be used to fill the flushing tank on the toilet …
… or water the garden …
… or wash the roof and cabin sides.
How did I ever manage without this? (NB, for those concerned that I might be wasting water, it is simple enough to empty the contents of the hose back into the cold water tank).
New glow plugs and connecting cables.
